A new thriller called Trespass opens in theaters today — but movies opening is hardly something to share here... what's unique about this is that it also releases today on YouTube Movies (in the United States) as well. This is one of just a few theatrical films/movies that are following this new path to their audience.
Director Joel Schumaker, when asked “I know certain people in my industry are furious about … their films being shown in anyway than they were supposed to be meant to be seen [in theaters]. However, there’s no stopping technology.”
It will be very interesting to see if this is a growing trend for movie/film releases and whether there will come a time when we pretty much only enjoy movies at home. What do you think?
You'll find Trespass featured today on the front section of YouTube Movies - the site's pay per view section.
NOTE: The movie 'Trespass' is rated R and likely not suitable for younger viewers.
Oh, that's great! Viewers will now have the chance to watch the movie on time, even if they're at home. Hmm, watching movies at home via pay-per-view would be great. You'll be spared from the hassle of the crowd, especially for those hit movies.
