Facebook Annouces New Controls, Groups & Download Capability

I was able to tune into the live video feed live from the Facebook headquarters in Palo Alto, California  

yesterday and heard the new changes that the FB team has created for the millions of Facebook 'users'.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg shared how he led his team in 'lock-down' mode over the past two months to create some new functions and changes to make our Facebook experience more valuable and to give us 'more control'. 

My guess is that he/they designed some of these new functions as a result of the large outcries of lack of privacy, etc. that some of the Facebook changes these past months have led to.  Here are the major new changes/functions in Facebook, along with a short tutorial video (compliments of the Facebook team) to help you understand them and how to use them:

From the Facebook Blog "Until now, Facebook has made it easy to share with all of your friends or with everyone, but there hasn't been a simple way to create and maintain a space for sharing with the small communities of people in your life, like your roommates, classmates, co-workers and family.... We set out to remedy this"

 Part of the solution Facebook created was a new method to create Groups or communities that you can choose what you share with whom (and what you don't share).  You can view a short video about these new groups on the Facebook Page here: Giving You More Control and then can create your own new group/s here: http://www.facebook.com/groups

I am personally most excited about the new option that will enable us to download all our Facebook information -- our posts, our photos, etc.  Here is a short video that details this new development:
