Your Technology Tutor - new website presence & Facebook page for technology lessons

I am pleased to announce that I have revamped and launched a new online home for my non-Casablanca, technology lessons, articles & tips.  You'll find this at the URL: http://yourtechnologytutor.com/

 

This is not a departure from my continually growing resources for Casablanca colleagues both on this blog and on my Casablanca Expert website.  Rather this is a virtual place where folks can go to learn all kinds of tips and operations that will compliment their work on their Casablanca video editor.

For those colleagues on Facebook - you will also find a new Facebook Page where I will also be sharing these new resources:  Chet Davis Tech Tutor on Facebook.

Each day will see a new, short video lesson and some additional tips, news items and some tech-humor.

USB Flash Drive on sale for $6 - compatible with both Smart Edit & Bogart e

One of the little things I use a LOT in my editing lab is this little baby, an 8 GIG USB Flash Drive. I use it to move video files back and forth between my Bogart editors and my Mac and Windows computers, to move JPEG photos from my computers into both my Casablanca editors, to export still frames from my Bogart editor to my computers and to move audio files from my computers into my Bogart editors (via the Media Manager).


This little baby works in both Smart Edit and Bogart... and it's on sale this week at Staples for only $6. I plan to drop by our Staples store this afternoon and pick me up another of these, very handy and a great price.

NOTE: They have larger sized drives on sale this week also - but I cannot verify they will be read in Smart Edit. I would go with this 8GB model for SE.

Should be a great lesson next Thursday as I provide an introduction to audio clean-up tools (3 of them to be exact): Audacity, Levellator, and SoundSoap2.


Each of these computer applications have some powerful functions to help with audio sweetening and audio fixes.  Chet will detail the benefits of each product and spend the majority of the time with Audacity. Have a Facebook Fan Page for your Video Business?

Chet Davis is presenting a FREE webinar (online lesson) this Wednesday April 4th at 9:00AM Pacific (12Noon Eastern) and a repeat session on Thursday April 5th in the evening (6:00PM Pacific/9:00PM Eastern) to introduce the new Timeline Profile for Facebook Fan Pages.

If you have or are thinking of a Facebook Fan Page for your Video Production Business or Organization (Church, Non-profit, Club) this will be a valuable session for you.


In this free on-line lesson you'll get an overview of why your entity should have a Facebook Page (or maybe why it doesn't matter to you), what the new features of Timeline are, and how a business/organization can take full advantage of the new changes.

Members Webinar April 19th - Audio Sweetening with Audacity

 Join Casablanca Expert Chet Davis as he provides an introduction to the freeware program 'Audacity'. This software for your PC (Windows and Mac) has some great capabilities for audio sweetening and audio fixes.  

In addition to an introduction to the Audacity free-ware (free software) Chet will show how to get the audio out and back into your Casablanca (both Smart Edit & Bogart OS platforms).

As part of the webinar session Chet will be available to answer your specific questions and address your needs.

This session will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Pacific Time - all time zones here.

A new on-line resource for video producers has launched!

I am thrilled to announce there is a new on-line resource for video producers at my new web site: YourVideoExpert.net.
     
NOTE: This new web site will not take the place of CasablancaExpert.com - this community and the web resources here will continue to grow. This other new web site allows me to share even more of my knowledge that is not related to Casablanca video editors, more in the realm of what you do prior to editing (though I will also be providing instruction on other video editing tools)
